About The Cupping Revolution™

The Cupping Revolution™ is a new approach to an ancient modality. Combining traditional cupping methods with contemporary science, this program provides bodywork and healthcare professionals with cupping skills that can be practiced within their professional scope, immediately after completing the course.

This program was created as a response to the sudden surge in popularity that cupping therapy experienced after the 2016 Olympics.  Having taught and practiced cupping therapy for over 20 years, it quickly became evident that practitioners were not always learning the correct and safest techniques to perform cupping, and care for their cupping devices. And so, the extended online curriculum for Cupping for Maunal Therapists was born.

The lessons in Cupping 1 include video demonstrations of all cupping techniques including stationary cupping, fast cupping, and gliding cupping.

Three depths of suction will be taught and practiced - each has its own specific purpose. Each of the cupping methods will be explained and demonstrated, and it will be explained to you in detail which situation you should be using each technique.

Students will practice myofascial gliding cupping, as well as stationary and hold and release cupping.

Techniques are shown with both silicone and plastic cups where appropriate, the focus in this program is silicione cups as they are currently the safest and most versatile cupping tools. Several types of cups will be demonstrated including silicone dome cups (otherwise known as massage or cellulite cups), silicone mushroom cups (otherwise known as bangfa or contour cups), elongated silicone cups, negative ion cups, bulb cups and plastic cups.

The lessons discuss the history of cupping and its uses throughout cultures, the evolution of techniques and materials throughout the ages, contemporary uses, and recent research on cupping.

You will learn the indications and contraindications for cupping, precautions, and professional standards for safety.

In order to gain a course completion certificate for this course, all modules must be completed, and there are quiz questions for each module. Students are expected to obtain an 80% final mark on the quiz questions.

Cupping 1 is approved for 8 CE with NCBTMB and NY State.

What the students are saying...

  • Meridian Care Center

I was having the worst trouble elevating my left arm perpendicular to my body without excruciating pain in my middle deltoid. While I was completing the cupping course, I just started cupping my deltoid and my pec major. I was focused on what I was reading more than on what I was doing, so I was quite surprised when I removed the cups and elevated my arm.....WITHOUT ANY PAIN OR DISCOMFORT!!! 🙌🙌🙌

Acupuncturist and Manual Therapist

At the age of seven, a serious accident set me on an unexpected path—one that would shape my lifelong journey into alternative medicine and healing. Living with chronic pain led me to search for the most effective tools to support my own recovery. Combined with a natural desire to help others, this pursuit guided me into the study of psychology, pain science, and Eastern Medicine. Every modality that eased my pain and brought me back into alignment deepened my education and opened new avenues for learning.

In 2009, I stepped back from clinical practice for the first time to begin teaching at local colleges and supervising student clinics. By 2015, I was delivering my own courses and quickly became known for my in-depth training in cupping therapy. But the work I offer goes far beyond cupping alone.

My mission has always been to equip practitioners with efficient, effective techniques that not only elevate the quality of their treatments but also protect and support their own bodies. I’m passionate about offering high-quality, evidence-informed education—grounded in the wisdom and principles of Traditional Medicine.

I began teaching cupping (and other courses) at the Shiatsu School of Canada in 2009, and  the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I started teaching continuing education in 2010 at The University of Toronto, and in 2015 started the Meridian Care Center where I provide courses in Eastern Medicine, Meridian Therapy, Acupressure, Moxibustion, Cupping Therapy, and self-care.

"I teach you what you need to know in order to give an effective, if not an outstanding treatment. Since beginning to teach East Asian Medicine in 2008, I can see that my own special skill as a teacher is quickly identifying the unique abilities of my students and supporting their development. Every practitioner has an unique talent that they can apply to their training and develop an individualized and appropriate practice. I realized early on that what makes a good teacher is one who can not only demonstrate 'how' but to teach 'why' Having a broader context of applying concepts of the body and its systems can only complete the perfect puzzle that is the body/mind/spirit" Its amazing to see former students practicing and excelling at their own special version of being an empathic healer. "I cannot take the lens from which I experience away, I can only add more depth to my field of perception"
