Lisa Dowling BA, R.Ac.
Acupuncturist, Manual Therapist, and Educator
Lisa Dowling has been practicing East Asian Medicine and manual therapy for more than 25 years and teaching practitioners since 2008. She has taught cupping therapy, acupuncture, meridian therapy and other continuing education programs through colleges and professional institutions, including the University of Toronto, the Shiatsu School of Canada and the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2015, Lisa founded Meridian Care Center, where she develops continuing education for massage therapists, bodyworkers and other healthcare practitioners.
Her approach to cupping goes beyond learning techniques. Lisa teaches practitioners to understand why, when and how to use them—combining clinical reasoning, hands-on skill and principles of East Asian Medicine to help practitioners adapt treatment to the individual in front of them.
She is passionate about teaching effective techniques that improve treatment possibilities while helping practitioners protect their own bodies and develop a style of practice that is uniquely their own.
“I don't just want to teach you how to perform a technique. I want you to understand why you're using it, so you can make better decisions for the person in front of you.”
