In my studies and teachings, I found these two things to be true...

There are so many practitioners who have studied bodywork and had an introduction to East Asian Medicine, but not enough to really work in that paradigm.

There are so many practitioners who have studied East Asian Medicine, and their studies were focussed on Acupuncture and/or Herbs but maybe the focus on manual therapy and external modalities were overlooked.

In this online course, I have shared all of my accumulated experience from  Eastern Medicine, shiatsu, Thai Massage, Massage Therapy, Osteopathy, Movement Therapy and Pilates and of course TCM cupping.

This course will not teach you East Asian Medicine, it is expected that you already understand the 5 Elements, 12 main and hopefully the extraordinary Vessels.

For the past 25 years I have been immersed in East Asian Medicine and culture.  I find perspectives to be very interesting, and am a keen observer on how each culture responds to a movement.

Since Acupuncture came to North America and Europe, it has taken on a life of its own.  The advancements in treatment have been incredible as we use modern medicine to upgrade our knowledge, as well as diving deeper into the Classical ways.

But somehow manual therapy got set aside after the Cultural Revolution.  Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, and even Tui Na, bone setting and other ancient manual therapies are often under-addressed in schools.

It was only in the past eight years or so that I started to learn that there was a lot more to cupping than the half day of instruction we received in acupuncture school.  Sure we practicced flash cupping and deep stationary cupping in our clinics and were quite adept at it.

No one ever talked about deficiency cupping

No one talked about gentle cupping

Blisters and cupping marks that lasted for days and weeks are a normal healthy way to remove toxins from the body....

My understanding of Eastern Medicine and Western Medicine agree that the Liver and Kidneys are the detoxification organs!!

The skin IS an organ of detoxification but it is not meant to do the heavy lifting!
