About Lisa Dowling
Lisa Dowling entered the world of healing and bodywork through her own journey that began at the age of seven, when a freak accident left her with long term health issues and chronic pain. She found real relief for the first time with shiatsu therapy through her chiropractor who suggested it to help manage her pain. Five years later Lisa found herself on a treatment mat in Thailand, and knew that she had found her calling.
From that day in 1997 it has been a constant learning and growing process. Lisas' studies in thai massage, shiatsu, movement therapy, western sciences - anatomy and physiology, osteopathic techniques, acupuncture - specifically Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion, and cupping were fueled by her own desire to learn to manage chronic pain.
Lisa began teaching cupping at the Shiatsu School of Canada in 2009, and currently teaches at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since 2015, Lisa has formed the Meridian Care Center where she provides courses in Eastern Medicine, Meridian Therapy, Acupressure, Moxibustion, and Cupping Therapy.
Her desire to provide high quality materials for practitioners to not only improve the quality of treatments, but also to make it easier on the body has been a prime motivation. Since the 2016 Olympics cupping therapy has become extremely popular. A lot of misinformation being spread through the media networks. It became Lisa's mission to try to correct some of the misinformation, and provide high quality, evidence based information that is delivered through the lens of Traditional Medicine. And so, The Cupping Revolution™ came to life.

A childhood accident left me with long term health issues and chronic pain. It also led me to real relief for the first time in my lifea after receiving with shiatsu therapy. Five years later Lisa found herself on a treatment mat in Thailand, and knew that she had found her calling as a practitioner.
From that day in 1997 it has been a constant learning and growing process. I have studied Traditional Thai Massage, shiatsu, movement therapy, western sciences - anatomy and physiology, osteopathic techniques, acupuncture - specifically Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion, cupping and more.
I began teaching at the Shiatsu School of Canada in 2008, and also taught at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine until 2022. Since 2015, I formed the Meridian Care Center where you can find courses in Eastern Medicine, Meridian Therapy, Acupressure, Moxibustion, and Cupping Therapy. More recently I have begun to support practitioners in their journey in to the online space.
My desire to provide high quality materials and training for practitioners has been a prime motivation. The 2016 Olympics highlighted the need for good cupping training and it became my mission to try to correct some of the misinformation, and provide high quality, evidence based information that is delivered through the lens of Traditional Medicine.
