Dynamic Cupping ONLINE

Clinical Reasoning & Advanced Dynamic Cupping

 Level 2

You already know how to use cups.

Now learn how to think clinically with them.

Dynamic Cupping Techniques is Level 2 of Cupping for Manual Therapists and is designed for practitioners who have already completed foundational cupping training.

This course moves beyond basic cup application and introduces a more dynamic, clinically reasoned approach to cupping. You'll learn how to assess the presentation in front of you and use that information to determine where, how and how much to treat.

Move Beyond Protocol-Based Cupping

Using principles from East Asian Medicine, you'll explore how to recognize and differentiate:

  • Excess and Deficiency
  • Heat and Cold
  • Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis
  • Wind
  • Acute, subacute and chronic presentations
  • The significance of cupping marks and tissue response

You'll then learn how these observations can influence your choice of suction, technique, placement, duration and overall treatment strategy.

Expand Your Dynamic Cupping Skills

You'll explore techniques including:

  • Pin and stretch
  • Cup rotation
  • Hold and release
  • Cross-fiber techniques
  • Skin rolling
  • Joint mobilizations
  • Dynamic movement with cups
  • Meridian and channel cupping

You'll learn how to incorporate these techniques into treatments for commonly encountered areas including:

  • Neck and shoulders
  • Back and hips
  • Abdomen and diaphragm
  • Arms and legs
  • Knees, ankles and feet
  • Piriformis and sciatic presentations

You'll also explore different treatment positions, including prone, supine, side-lying and seated applications, so that cupping can become a more versatile part of the manual therapy you already provide.

Clinical Reasoning Changes the Treatment

Strong cupping isn't always better cupping.

A hot, acute, Excess presentation may require a very different approach from a chronic, Cold or Deficient one. A fixed area of Blood Stasis may call for a different strategy than moving Qi Stagnation or a presentation with characteristics of Wind.

The goal of Level 2 is not simply to give you more cupping techniques.

It's to help you understand which technique to choose, why you're choosing it, and how to adapt it to the person in front of you.

The cups are the tools. Clinical reasoning determines how you use them.

Prerequisite: Previous training in cupping therapy is required.
