Finding Sha
FINDING SHA
Sha means that there is congestion trapped in the superficial tissues of the body. When there is sha, you will find an increase of blood at the skin level once the treatment is performed.
The superficial connective tissue on the body is a membrane that carries electrical messages, cellular material and where signals for tissue remodelling are found.
One should always suspect sha when there is pain in the body. This could be fully or partially resolved when applying gua sha effectively.
CHECKING FOR SHA
Pressing one or several fingers on to an area of the flesh, nad pulling them away quickly is the quickest and easiest way to check for sha. The act of pressing the tissue displaces blood and blanches the tissues. If the tissue is normal, the blanching will end quickly and colur will return to the tissues. If the colour of the tissues remains pale or white and returns slowly, this is an indication of sha, and performing gua sha would be indicated.
Most issues will reflect with sha on the upper, middle and lower back because these pathways organize the entire nervous system of the body. This is the most common area to check for sha.
