Large Intestine Meridian

Location:

Starts on the radial side of the index fingernail, continues to the space between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, between the extensor pollicus longus and brevis (anatomical snuff box), along the lateral aspect of the radial side of the arm to the lateral elbow, continuing up the lateral side of the bicep to the shoulder joint where it crosses behind the depression between the scapular spine and the lateral extremity of the clavicle.

Travels medially to DU 14 (the spinous process of C7 where it meets the 5 yang channels of hand and foot. Here it travels internally through the supraclavicular fossa and emerges on the neck, at the SCM, ascends the face to the mouth, crosses the frenulum to the contralateral nostril where it joins the Stomach channel.

Used to Treat:

-Bicep, shoulder arm injury

-Wrist injury

-Digestion issues

-LI 4 important point for moving energy downward

-LI 4 paired with LV 3 opens the 12 channels and regulates the system

-LI 21 known to help clear mucous from the sinus
