1.TEMPERATURE
Indications Concerns
Heat
Inflammation injury, infection,
Fever infection, virus, immunodeficiency, possible contagion
Hot flashes Yin Deficiency
Cold
Cold limbs, stiff joints Qi and or Yang deficiency, intense pain, difficult movement
Cold hips, abdomen KD Yang deficiency, Qi stagnation, BL Stasis
Local symptoms – usually excess
Systemic symptoms – usually deficient
In cases where there is stagnation and dampness systemically (excess) there is often underlying deficiency and should be treated as such unless there is certainty.
Combination – local heat with generalized cold is a Yang deficiency with local excess (injury) Qi Stagnation or BL Stagnation on the Meridian level

Excess - profuse and sticky where there is Stagnation and Dampness Damp Heat presents with foul smell

Indications Concerns
Headache Side of head, tension in neck/shoulder/posture/emotions
Top of head Du Mai, KD/Bladder deep pain
Sinusitis Dampness, food sensitivity, allergy, pressure changes
Tinnitis difficult to treat, low tone indicates deficient KD, High pitch can be excess Yang, often is combination, check vagus nerve
Eye Problems Dry eyes – check Liver, Grey sclera – check metal, red eyes – Heart, Poor eyesight – Kidneys, eyelids - Spleen
Teeth or Jaws grinding teeth – stress – Liver/Gallbladder or Triple Heater Toothache – Stomach, large jawline – Kidney constitution
