Self Cultivation - Meridian Palpation
As sensitivity develop, so does the awareness of the depth of the Qi that is traveling in the channels.
When you can approach the system at the level that it is manifesting, your treatment will not require a lot of effort to achieve results.
If you treat or palpate too lightly, you may get some results but the body may expend energy to ‘reach’ your invitation.
If you palpate too deeply, you may go beyond the channel level and overstimulate the meridian where the body has to recover from the technique before it can begin the healing process.
Things to consider when practicing meridian palpation
1.Every channel has its own depth and electromagnetic field. Based on your own constitution, certain meridians may be easier or more difficult for you to feel.
2.Generally speaking, the Lung Meridian will be the easiest to palpate so it is a good starting point. Each meridian exists on a different depth, and has a different electromagnetic current so each will feel different. The Metal element is the most superficial of the 5 Elements, thereby being closest to the surface of the body.
3.Developing your palpation skills in this way won’t happen overnight. Although you may have great palpation skills and have been practicing for a long time, if you are new to meridian palpation it will take time and consistent practice to get a feel for these methods.
4.Your best tool to develop your palpation skills is developing your own energetic sensitivity, and your own energy field. Focusing on this will be your fastest route to having good meridian palpation skills.
